Has Obama ever given up citizenship to the US or do schools in Indonesia allow foreign students?
Phil- right, so your guardian, or parent could do it for you.

he wasn't old enough to declare citizenship to any country while in Indonesia. I don't know, you'd have to look it up. I fail to see how this matters so I'm not going through the motions...
2 :
schools allow foreign kids of course.
3 :
Oh my God. Really?
4 :
Do you have any idea how many illegal immigrants are in the American school system? We allow foreign students in our system.
5 :
All fellow muslims are welcome at madrassa schools in Indonesia.
6 :
No. That claim so obviously fake. Noticed it was never suggested before two weeks ago.... how come?
7 :
See, questions like this terrify me. You are terrifying. When you were a little kid were you thinking about giving up your US citizenship? Barack Obama is a US citizen, was born in the United States, and in fact decided to stay in the United States to finish school (high school) and lived with his grandparents. Instead of listening to lunatics like Sarah Palin and the uber stupid that stand up at her rallies and say things like "he's a terrorist" simply because they have been listening to a crazy woman spew at the mouth, why not try doing some research on the candidates that goes beyond what you are fed through McCrazy TV commercials?
8 :
One does not have to give up citizenship to attend a school in another country. No...he has never given up his citizenship. He is a citizen of the United States.
9 :
He was SIX YEARS OLD. He didn't give up his citizenship. He didn't even really know what that was back then. But his mother didn't give up her citizenship, so he didn't.
10 :
AFAIK Obama has never established that he is a US citizen or ever was a US citizen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyspCRmJv7w&eurl=http://www.youtube.com/user/thealexjoneschannel?ob=4
11 :
Every Preseidential candidate is thuoroughly investigaed by the FBI before they can even become a candidate. There is a form they have to fill out then the FBI performs an investigation into his citizenship, ties to anit-American organizations etc. If he had given up his citizenship, which he did not, he would not be eligible to run for President. So to all of those people who question who Obama is and his right to run for President must not be aware that all candidates for President, Vice-President, Senator, Representative, Supreme Court Justices and several other positions have to under go a VERY thourough investigation. In Obama's case there would have even been an investigation into his ties with Ayers which of course they found nothing. Remember, some very high powered Replublicans served on the same board as Ayers and Obama. So if Obama is a terrorist so are they.

I'm an American and I never went to school in the USA, I went to school in Australia. Regardless what foreign country you go to school or choose to live in, if your born in the USA, you are an American.

If I may, I would like to recommend using Youth For Understanding (YFU) to go on exchange. I am a 5-time host mom and volunteer with YFU (USA). When I have asked exchange students why they chose YFU, I get the following answers: (1) YFU gave them more bang for their buck; and/or (2) someone they knew and trusted recommended YFU. 95% of the fees collected by YFU go for direct program costs (airline tickets, support in hosting country, etc.). YFU has been around for almost 60 years and has learned how to make exchanges successful. If you choose another organization, please make sure that it is listed with the Council for Standards on International Educational Travel (csiet.org). They routinely audit programs for quality. While it is possible that a good organization is not listed with them, it is less likely and I would advise doing more research on anyone that is not listed with them. Check out the website below and good luck to you no matter what you choose!

To be quite honest, I couldn't care less. That's my opinion. I'd rather worry about the people in my own Country.
2 :
Library can help you read books you can`t afford to buy. For the impact, it depends on where and how good the library is. In Indonesia there are too many old books that I always sneeze when read a book.

i suggest trying to get a position in the same field that you are studying in so that when you graduate you will have an advantage of experience. I am unsure what you are studying so can't give any specific tips for the field. A lot of companies will be really supportive with part time work that fits around your school timetable. Otherwise there is always bar work

What foreign exchange student from Indonesia went to Occidental College and later became President of the USA?
http://presscore.ca/2011/?p=2929 Is it a false story. Snopes says it is but they didn't produce any evidence to the contrary. Have you seen and credible news source deny or defend this report? TX Joe that is the most intelligent answer you have ever provided me. Too bad you had to screw it up with your vulgar and rediculus example. Why didnt you use my question as the example? Currently we don't have enough information to either prove or disprove (here lies the ignorance) weather Obama claimed he was a foreigner to get a scholarship. Obama has sealed his transcripts and the school isn't confirming the accuracy of the alleged documents produced showing he did claim to be foreign. Now Joe, just like that prick wiener you have failed to recognize my question was ...has anyone seen any information that confirms or denies the accuracy of the story? I did postulate that since you can't prove me wrong. But keep up the good work... However you don't want the LP's find out your a spy Oops Iphone typo. Above I meant to say "I didn't postulate that since you can't prove me wrong..." And it should be "You're a spy" not your spy. Tx your rants would be more effective, funny, cogent if you dropped the hatred, and the self loathing. Answer this question. Do you deny Obama played fast and loose with his name (alias) and his citizenship in two countries. USA and Indonesia? I believe he traveled to Pakistan as a student when it was impossible to travel with a US passport?

The fact that Obama sealed all of his records including all of his academics, financial aid records should tell you something about what he is trying to hide from the public. Common sense would tell you that he HAS something to hide. How did a low income family student afforded and got into the Ivy League? That's a legitimate question. Researchers have gotten records of Obama's 2 years at Occidental. He was there on a foreign scholarship as an Indonesian student. Your president has a lot to hide from the public. Trust me.

Jimmy B, imagine the following hypothetical situation. Somebody (let's call him Al) decides to call you (let's call you Butthole) a copraphageous half-wit. Al has no proof that Butthole is a copraphageous half-wit. But Al decides to call Butthole a copraphageous half-wit anyway, because he is unemployed, bored and has a Yahoo Answers account and his momma's computer at hand. What Al has done in this hypothetical case is engage in an Argument from Ignorance, also known as argumentum ad ignorantiam or "appeal to ignorance." It is a fallacy in informal logic. It asserts that a proposition is true because it has not been proven false (or vice versa). This represents a type of false dichotomy in that it excludes a third option, which is that there is insufficient investigation and therefore insufficient information to satisfactorily prove the proposition to be either true or false. Nor does it allow the admission that the choices may in fact not be two (true or false), but may be as many as four, (1) true, (2) false, (3) unknown between true or false, and (4) being unknowable (among the first three).[1] In debates, appeals to ignorance are sometimes used to shift the burden of proof. Argument from ignorance may be used as a rationalization by a person who realizes that he has no reason for holding the belief that he does. The fallaciousness of arguments from ignorance does not mean that one can never possess good reasons for thinking that something does not exist, an idea captured by philosopher Bertrand Russell's teapot, a hypothetical china teapot revolving about the sun between Earth and Mars; however this would fall more duly under the arena of pragmatism, wherein a position must be demonstrated or proven in order to be upheld, and therefore the burden of proof is on the argument's proponent. Let's get back to our hypothetical case involving Al and Butthole. In a real life situation, when Al calls Butthole a copraphageous half-wit, Butthole becomes so enraged that he immediately stops eating his bowl full of warmed-over feces and grabs his momma's computer to resume launching another round of Arguments from Ignorance. Sound familiar? Jimmy B, you may be able to retype your gibberish into something less incomprehensible after you sober up, but there is nothing you can do to paper over the fundamentally retarded basis of your foolish attempt at a question. This is nothing but a variant of the inane Birther rant. You offer nothing to substantiate it because there is nothing to substantiate. Your appeals to ignorance may work well with the Teabaggers and Contards who source what passes for their information from random outpourings on the internet and desinformatsiya from Fox. Dragging "that prick weiner" (sic) into your desperate attempt to save yourself from drowning, in other words attempting to cloud the fact that you are a mouth-breathing moron, is the last act of a misbegotten community college drop-out who is beginning to realize that he is a mouth-breathing moron. Welcome to the beginnings of self-awareness, Jimmy B.

for 10 months, including airfare and insurance, that's really cheap. Since your American friends are probably travelling as backpackers, don't have the same visa restrictions in many countries as you would have, and are probably not travelling for studies but for vacation, in which case they are not legally required to have insurance, comparing what they spend with what you would spend for training is like comparing apples and oranges.

I can't even understand your question. Sorry.
2 :
u may not really get a resource u have to keep reading and listening to people speak, look up the words and learn. Back in high school, my teacher had us do something. He said there are 200 words that can be formed from the word "unemployment" (u can move the letters around). Those these are mainly prepositions but u'll be surprised at how hard u think and examine your total word repertoire. I got stuck at 87, the highest was 98. try games like that, when u are not sure of a word, look it up. good luck.

First, financial aid for international students can be classified into two categories Ć¢€“ Need-based and Merit-based aid. Roughly, need-based aid is awarded based inversely proportional to your family income. Merit-based aid is awarded based on your merit (academic or otherwise) and does not depend on family income. Of your financial need (the difference between the cost of study and your ability to pay), colleges that award need-based aid can cover up to your full demonstrated need, whilst others leave a gap that you must cover with loans or borrow from relatives. Most colleges are need-sensitive, which means your financial need affects your admission Ć¢€“ i.e. more financial need results in lesser likelihood of being admitted. A) Need-based Financial Aid Need-blind colleges do not consider your financial situation when deciding admission. There are only six schools in the U.S. that are need-blind and meet full-need of international students: 1) Amherst College 2) Dartmouth College 3) Harvard University 4) Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 5) Princeton University 6) Yale University Need-sensitive schools that are generous in awarding financial aid to international students are (in no particular order): 1) Williams College. Williams College used to be need-blind for the last admissions cycle but nonetheless still awards generous financial aid to the very best international applicant. 2) Middlebury College 3) Swarthmore College 4) Vassar College 5) Vanderbilt University B) Merit-based Financial Aid Schools that offer merit-based scholarships (up to full tuition) to international students are (in no particular order): 1) Wesleyan University. Freeman Asian Scholars program for 11 Asian students which covers full tuition for four years. 2) University of Richmond. Full tuition scholarships to up to 12 Science Scholars, 20 Boatwright Scholars, 6 Artist Scholars, 7 Oldham Scholars (this includes room and board) 3) University of Southern California (USC) - 100 full tuition scholarships and more than 200 half tuition scholarships 4) University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) - 70 Johnston Scholarships for entering freshmen 5) Washington and Lee University (W&L) - Johnson Scholarships C) Tuition-Free Colleges Schools that offer the equivalent of tuition-free scholarships to every incoming student (including international students) 1) Berea College. Preference for students from low-income families. 2) The Cooper Union. Requires a U.S. mailing address to apply.

What should I do that my girlfriend is pregnant? she is an international student on a student visa from Indonesia.

there's really nothing you can do. go with her or something?
2 :
1) improve your grammar! please! 2) I assume you mean she is Indonesian and you live is Australia, and she may have to go back, is that correct? If she is carrying your child then, I believe the law states she can stay with you because of the child and won't be deported. I maybe wrong, feel free to correct me if I am. However if you mean she is leaving to go study in Australia, there is nothing you can do, that is her choice, sorry.
3 :
If you are an australian citizen you can marry her and apply for her to get a spouasl visa. BUT she will most probably still have to pay for the birth (hospital and doctors). If you are not an australian legal resident or citizen then the baby will NOT be an australian citizen since both parents are not australian residents or citizens.
4 :
If you are an Australian citizen or PR and if you have lived together for 12 months in a genuine relationship or if you marry, she can apply for a spouse visa with you as her sponsor . http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/partner-inside.htm If you can't or don't want to go the spouse visa route, there is very little you can do. She can stay here until the end of her course as long as she continues her studies and meets her student visa conditions, but unless she applies for an immigration visa or another student visa, she will then have to leave the country and having an Aussie baby won't make any difference. If you are on the birth certificate as the acknowledged father of the child (and are a citizen or PR of course), it will be an Australian citizen but that provides no residence or citizenship rights to its Indonesian mother. If you don't want to marry at this time but do want to stay together, the best bet would be for you to qualify for and then apply for a spouse visa by living together for 12 months. Once granted (takes a few months), that will give her access to Medicare and a visa to stay here and work or study. After 2 years, she gets PR if you are still together. If you marry, she will be eligible for Medicare as soon as she applies for her spouse visa. Check out the easy to follow Partner Migration booklet paying particular attention to the relationship proof information on pages 38/39. You must prove that the relationship is genuine and continuing and not a sham entered into just to get a visa for her - the pregnancy makes that easier to do, but you still need other evidence. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1127.pdf The baby will have no right to citizenship unless you are a citizen or PR.

How to eliminate poverty in Indonesia?
How to eliminate poverty in Indonesia?
I think education is the main key. I have travelled to USA, UK, Germany, Japan, and Singapore and the youths there are not like what MTV or National Lampoon showed us... Many of them are so dilligent and serious in study, although many are not too. Compared to students in Indonesia, the students are competing seriously each other - our students protested for the UN, but the students there consider exams as challenges.

Totally agree!!!! Educate the people....eliminate poverty!!!!
2 :
Okay. First of all, why would you depend on stupid things like MTV or National Lampoon show? Okay. MTV is for music stuff and most of National Lampoon is porn stuff. Japan is totally into their studies and some of the smartest people are there. Ever wonder how Toyota came? On something like National Lampoon it seems like the Japanese are really dirty whores- their disgusting videos from what I've heard. Okay. Back to Indonesia. Then why don't you do something about it? What can YOU do? Think yourself. Third, if you're asking what you can do to eliminate poverty, first think common sense. Sure it seems like a good thing to eliminate poverty, but you can't kill it all. You can help brush poverty away by doing something to help one town or place at a time. Not eliminate. Make a program or something that teaches people to be able to live without begging or something.

i think the first thing that could eliminate the poverty in indonesia is STOP THE CORRUPTION, im so sick of the corruption of my own country, makes me don`t want to live there anymore. Last time i went to get some paperwork in health department there, they really make it hard for me, just because all of their employee wants me to bribe them with money to make things go smooth. After i gave them some money and some food, then things go smoother. Second is education and I really agree on that. Despite the poverty in there ALOT of Indonesian people have a good opportunity to go study abroad. These people when they go back to Indonesia can help the situation. The chance is alot of them will never go back to Indonesia.
4 :
First thing first, Abolish Corruption is the most significant step to eliminate poverty. Indonesian government needs to learn how to maintain their funds and distribute money and welfare to the people equally so that poverty will soon be diminish.
5 :
Totally agreed with the above 2, corruption is the main factor that's contributing to the situation of poverty in Indonesia. Tackle this problem first before thinking of others. BTW, eliminating Muslim will not help but only make matter worse.

Repair Indonesian morale first...! Stop corruption! Stop talks craps without action... Indonesia is rich country, we have many foreign investment now... Look our IHSG is almost increasing everyday... So where is all money right now...? why with so many capital entering Indonesia is not described with infrastructure's development in Indonesia? I think it goes to politician pocket... So... stop corruption is the key.... And for our representer in DPR/MPR, please shut up your mouth if you dont have any action...

Having education backgrounds in pure math (stats) and engineering, I will approach this problem in a more analytical way than what have been proposed. Suppose a country has nine citizens: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and I. If A, B, and C have incomes of 100 per year, D has 90, E and F have 50, H has 30 and I has 20, then total income is 540, average income is 60 and the poverty line is 30 if calculated as 50 per cent of average, or 36 if calculated as 60 per cent of average. Suppose a wealthy foreign investor come to the country (such as Bill Gates) in the following year. He has an income of 500. He employs H and I for an extra 20 per year (more than they were getting before). The result is: Bill Gates 460, A, B and C 100 each, D has 90, E and F have 50, H now also has 50 and I has 40. So everyone is out of the poverty level of the year before. Sounds great, right? Yes, it works!!! Wait a minute. This is where the relativism kick in. The new poverty line is 52 or 57.2 (depending on the 50 or 60 percent definition). So Bill Gates has not only 'failed' to lift H and I out of poverty by giving them jobs that paid better, he has impoverished E and F, who were previously not poor, even though neither E nor F has lost any income! So, what have we learned? To tackle poverty, perhaps the best way is to reduce or even eliminate foreign investments, and start to rely on readily available native intellectual talents. By no means I am advocating to confront foreigners in Indonesia, but please, if you are citizens of Indonesia, do yourself a favor and think this hard: why do you need foreign companies (such as Freeport) to extract, control, and dominate your very OWN natural resources? PS: Executing all elderly people aged over 60 who live alone on less than average household incomes would statistically eliminate poverty- either they would be dead, or more likely they would choose to live in groups of two or three and therefore rise towards average household income levels. Getting rid of all students would have also similar effect. This may appear insanely evil. But believe it or not, certain Eastern European countries have done this approach. As well, I just described essentially the policies of Pol PotĆ¢€™s Cambodian holocaust in eliminating poverty.

Hi I'm from Indonesia, I am a student of Islam, I have a curiosity, about Islamic Terrorism. .?
a curiosity of a Muslim Hi I'm from Indonesia, I am a student of Islam, I have a curiosity, what your reasons to believe that Islamic terrorism comes from the Quran? I don't understand why the tenets of Islam is considered as a violence by outside persons. . I've read the Quran many times so I've understand. do not you ever read entirety of Quran? I think the terrorists of Islam is only wrong of perception, note the following verses: Fight in the cause of Allah Those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. (2:190) But if the enemy incline Towards peace, do thou (Also) incline Towards peace, and trust in God. for He is One That heareth and knoweth (All Things). (8:61) God forbids you not, with regard to who Those not fight you for (your) Faith Nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with Them: for Allah loveth Those are just who. (60:8) Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever Rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most Trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth All Things. (2:256) Except Those who joins a group and Between Whom you 'there is a the treaty (of peace), or Those who approach you with hearts restraining Them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If God Had pleased, He Could Have Them given power over you, and they want would have fought you: Therefore If they want to withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (guarantees of) peace, then the God hath opened no way for you (to war against Them). (4:90) How Can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except Those with Whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? These stand as long as true to you, stand ye true to Them: for Allah doth love the Righteous. (9:7) Muslim terrorists little wrong in interpreting this verses: O prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be harsh against Them. Their abode is hell, and an evil destination it is. (9:73) And fight Them Until there's no slander (polytheism) and religion is wholly for Allah. (8:39) it only refers to the situation at that time of chaos and hostility. What's your opinion? and whether you will try to read entire Quran??

Maybe because the terrorists do it in the name of Islam. It doesn't matter whether or not the Quran condones it. If they're terrorists who are committing these acts in the name of Islam, they're Islamic terrorists.
2 :
I don't need to read the Quran to know it is loaded with religious B.S. I don't believe in you god either.
3 :
It doesn't come from the Qur'an.
4 :
well , I think all Muslims who have this question should ask their fellow not so nice Muslims why they do what they do because quite frankly all of us non Muslims are either puzzled or blown up decapitated and so on! so you are asking the wrong crowd my friend. I always wondered why those who are peaceful not kick some serious terrorist azz and make it stop. but it does say in the Koran that one Muslim should never hurt another, and while this is apparent about Muslims I wish they would leave the Muslim Women alone Go to the Ramadan site on Yahoo answers cause that is where the ones you need to ask hang out EDIT: to the Girl below me,you have a right to your opinion and I respect that, but how is it our fault that we see over 15000 terror attacks since 9/11? is that our fault? what do we have to do with that? should you not ask your own kind why they are doing what they are doing?
5 :
Its because people misunderstand Islam. People don't want to see the truth of it and choose to follow those who have false information about Islam. Some people will never understand.

Some people will never understand.

i am an american indonesian, i am a law student in indonesia now. anyone know if i wanna be a lawyer in US?
Hey fellas, I am an American Indonesian, I am a law student in Indonesia at the moment. Due to my US citizenship, I also have an interest of becoming lawyer in US. But, what should I do next after graduated from Indonesia? Go to college again so it would be admissible to obtain a JD degree? Or should I study for LL.M degree since some said that some states in US accept LL.M graduates to practice? Thank a lot for your help or info

You have to see if the schools in the US will accept your law credits from a school in Indonesia. In most cases, it's unlikely. But there's always a chance, depending on the school. I'd recommend focusing on the JD degree and do it again so it could be permissible. What you have to remember is that law in Indonesia is most likely specific to Indonesia, just like law in the US is specific to law in the US. As such, there could be some overlapping classes such as those in ethics or juris prudence, however overall there fields are completely different. I'd say come back to the US and find a good JD school in the US. I hear Minnesota has good law schools. In any event, in the US the LLM is taken normally after you already have a JD as a specialized field. However, you're studying law in a different country so you'd want to get your JD in the US and then move into the LLM later on; of course after you find out if the US will recognize your Indonesian degree...if they do then go into the LLM. If not, the JD would be best---personally I would go for it either way to be on the safe side. Once States laws is not the same for another State.

It is highly unlikely that the US will allow you to sit for the bar as is, and very unlikely that with an Indonesian degree that you could get a L.LM. More than likely you will have to apply to Law School in the U.S. and go through Law School in the U.S. To be honest its truly questionable if any of your college will be recognized by a U.S. college.

In Singapore, no problem as its the same as other muslim country. Is that Singapore is not as strict as Indonesia and you are welcome to Singapore to see the idul fitri next year.
2 :
for muslim people who live in US are almost same like in indonesia. shalah eid then "silaturahmi" for your information they do not know what is idul fitri. you should write eid ul fitr. usually they will say eid mubarak or Kullu Aamen wa Antum Bikhair ( be blessed every year ), TaqabAllah Minna Wa Minkum (May Allah accept from us and from you)

He wont show his transcripts. Bush got ridiculed for showing off his sub-par grades... Obama wont even show his.
2 :
We both know this isn't true, so why don't you fess up and tell us why you're really against Obama.
3 :
This may be where he learned to get handouts. So now BP has to pay for his mistakes.
4 :
no, he manipulated the cia into getting him into harvard. while in packistan
5 :
Who's barry?
6 :
I don't know of any Barry Soetero, so I don't know. By the way, the fact that one's mother marries a man not biologically related to one doesn't necessarily mean that one takes that man's name. It often doesn't happen. It probably usually doesn't happen. In case you didn't know.
7 :
Yes. Right after he forged his birth certificate, secretly traveled to Afghanistan, became a drug dealer, joined the communist party, joined the Chicago Mafia, engaged in homosexual activity, changed his name sixteen times, and married a woman who said "whitey" on a well-known and often-seen video tape.
8 :
Yes but no one cares about Barry Soetero...
9 :
I think he did that is why there are no records of Obama attending college and no one remembers him from ANY college. Kind of strange not one single person remembers siting next to or room-mating with Obama. Not one single person in America knew Obama at the time he was in college. Strange.
10 :
Ssshhh
11 :
He did get a government grant to attend college as a foreign exchange student but not from Indonesia that way he could attend Occidental College in Southern California.
12 :
Yes., it appears he did according to records obtained from public sources.
13 :
Obama lived in Indonesia between the ages of 6 and 10. College students are older than that, kid.

I thought I heard that students had rioted because the government was spending a few million dollars on new cars for bureaucrats, but I might have mis-heard. I did a few searches and couldn't find any articles on it, but if someone could send me a link to an article on that story, I'd appreciate it.

The riots did not happen in Indonesia but in Dili the capital city of East Timor, which became independent of Indonesia some years ago. A poor country with plenty of resources, the riots were by students who were protesting against the government who was giving itself and cronies brand new cars. Corruption among those at the top, especially Gusmao and his clique are widely known and shameless. This country badly needs a shake-up and a clean out.

We are hosting a Muslim student from Indonesia. Who can I go to for help explaining cultural differences?
We are hosting a Muslim student from Indonesia. Who can I go to for help explaining cultural differences?
We are hosting a Muslim teen from Jakarta. So far, I am not getting any responses from the Islamic organizations in the area with regards to helping us adapt to the vast differences in our cultures. For example, we have an overly affectionate golden retriever. All of our friends and family are "dog people". Our student cannot be licked by a dog because his religion considers dogs to be unclean. Also, it seems we are having some difficulties conveying the importance of using soap when cleaning. And speaking of cleaning, he is getting water every where and occupying our only bathroom for long periods of time for his ritualistic cleansing before prayers. We took him with us to visit friends and he washed his feet in their sink, leaving water and debris all over the counters and floor. Also, he often does not consider our schedules when it is time for his prayers and often makes us late for appointments while we wait for him to finish his observances. HELP! How will we make it 10 months? we agreed to take him as a favor at the last minute because he was already on his way here and the foundation could not find a family to take him...

I think you should have learned these things before agreeing to host him. It sounds as though this is a clash of cultures. What he's doing he considers normal and I doubt you will get him to stop, nor should you. Even their prayer time is a set time. However you should speak with him about cleaning up after himself. Make sure he understands that the restroom should be left in the same condition he finds it. Insist on it. If he leaves a mess, call him back to clean it. Good luck, it sounds like you have a long 10 months ahead of you.

Have you tried turning to the foundation that sponsored this exchange for advice? Since these organizations deal with the differences in climate all the time, I would suggest this as an ideal starting point for finding someone to assist you in adapting the student to your culture and learning some ways to accomodate the different culture of the student into your own lifestyle. Additionally, school counselors, I am certain, are often called upon to help exchange students who are having difficulty in adapting to a new culture, perhaps they could offer some advice. If that doesn't help, then I would suggest looking to organizations on the Internet, either exchange organizations or Islamic organizations, and make contact with someone there who can provide help and advice both to your family and possibly to this teen who I am certain is struggling to adapt at least as much as your family is. Best of luck!

Re. getting water everywhere in the bathroom, you may want to show him how to use the shower/tub. In Indonesia, most people do not use shower or tub, and the whole the bathroom floor is wet. Basically, in the bathroom, the person stands beside a water tank, and use a plastic ladle (well.. big and super deep ladle or any container) to get water from the tank and pour the water to the body. Re. the ritualistic cleansing, I believe Muslims have to rinse their faces, hands, and feet before prayer. Maybe you can discuss with him the possibility of doing the cleansing in the backyard (if you have water outlet in your backyard) so he wouldn't occupy your bathroom. Good luck!
