You don't want much bigger than 15", it will be too heavy to lug around. You're gonna want lightness for easy to carry and usability. There's nothing wrong with Acer. I'm using one now, but my screen is 17". I don't carry it around every where, though. It just stays next to the couch in the living room. I'd just try to find something very lightweight for the right price. A couple pounds isn't going to kill you, if it costs 500 dollars more. As for foreign languages, I can't help you there. My own public library won't even let me check out a book on sign language! Oh yea, get at least 2 mb L2 cache speed for better indexing. Cache speed helps with opening and closing programs and the amount of time it takes to open each. And from here on out, don't get anything other than Wireless-N for the network adapter in any laptop. The Wireless-N is all the speed you'll need to keep up with technology for at least two more years, maybe three. Here's a link on cache. It's actually a pretty good link. http://computer.howstuffworks.com/cache2.htm
